To Our Eagles Community
The growing demand on facilities has been an on going challenge for us at East Perth. Particularly with our SBL program where we haven’t had the ability to train on our home court at Morley Recreation Centre given the night time competition that is run at the facility.
Opportunity has presented and for the best interests of the Clubs growth and ability to both train and play on a home court sees us grow to utilise the Mirrabooka Herb Graham facility.
This exciting venture sees the Herb Graham complex commence major capital improvements commencing 6th of December 2018 ready for our SBL 2019season.
We have worked through all items including YMCA, City of Bayswater, City of Stirling who manage the Herb Graham courts. We are no means saying goodbye to Morley rather capturing further courts within our area that enables this great club to grow.
Our intention for WABL season 2019 is to run over two locations both Morley and Mirrabooka. Previous Home games has seen very late Sunday nights which for families is always tough. By introducing the two locations we can run 6 courts and achieve a much earlier finish to remain as a club that we profess The Family Club.
Working through the issues such as coordination, umpires, stadium scoring etc have all been considered in the movement.
For our domestic competition we operate over current 5 courts to include Morley and The Rise. The Introduction of Mirrabooka adds a further 4 courts which enables us to grow our competition beyond where it is today.
Our catchment in the Eastern Districts fits well inside of our movement to further attract young men and women in the great sport called Basketball.
Exciting times for our club.
East Perth Executive.
